Postcards and letters

Well I've been a good girl! I've replied to a bunch of my pals this week! Thanks to 52 Weeks of Mail I'm being very consistent with my replies. I hope I can keep up the great work.

I also sent out a number of Postcrossing cards. I'm moving on up in the rankings. I'm currently ranked 14th in Australia! Yay for me! I have recevied some wonderful cards this week as well!

Being back at work this week I haven;t had as much time as I would like to write. I'll have to knock over all that boring paper work and my assignment for my Masters so I can get some more writing done! I'm also thinking of starting another blog... I've been inspired to share my knowledge but there are so many different areas of knowledge I have. How do I share it all? Any advice??

Swapping postcards and stamps.

Lately I've been a bit slack about everything. Usually I swap letters, stamps, postcards and FBs (Friendship Books) with my pals and devoted swappers. I've been so busy with all the general stuff I do that I haven't had a chance. Today I started replying to some of my swappers. Amazingliy there are swaps from April and May this year I haven't even looked at!

Fbs are a great way to find new penpals and swappers. Friendship books are something I've been swapping for about 15 years. These little booklets of paper travel the world gathering names and hopefully get sent back to their owners. The biggest problem is sometimes they don't come back. there are various reasons for this. When I make FB's I try to make them so that it won't take for ever to fill them. This way they get back to their owners more quickly. If you'd like to learn more about Fb's try the following websites: http://fbfun.com/about/ or http://www.squidoo.com/friendshipbooks

This week my contribution to 52 Weeks of Mail has been a few letters to penpals, lots of swaps and some Postcrossing cards.

Questing

I've been participating in some professional development for my teaching. I've been learning about Quest Atlantis a 3D virtual world where children (from all over the world) have been learning about their work through quests. Students are presented with problems they have to solve. When they have submitted their answers (usually in the form of a written text like an explanation or narrative) they are rewarded with 'money'. As they progress through they learn about all sorts of topics. I am finding this is a great way for students learn and it is engaging!

For more info check out http://quest-atlantis-teaching.wikispaces.com or http://questatlantisblog.org

I've also got a bunch more postcards to send off today as my contribution to 52 weeks of mail. I'll upload a picture!

It's been a while

Yes I know it's been a while but I really need to be more dedicated to writing here!

I've joined http://www.facebook.com/52weeksofmail a project organised by Etsy.com who are encouraging people to write a letter or card a week. That shouldn;t be too hard for me with all my penpals around the world and Postcrossing. I'll try to keep up to date with this blog and with all my other happenings!

Today I'm sending letters to Fleur in France and Jaz in Australia.

I've also made some oat and honey soap! Another one of my past times!
